En esta revisión, el RTX 2060S tendrá que competir con el RX 5700 de AMD. Sin embargo, también hemos comparado el RTX 2060S con las GPUs RTX más antiguas para ver de qué es capaz. Las tarjetas de vídeo RTX originales no llevan mucho tiempo en el mercado. También hay que mencionar el AMD Radeon VII. Sin embargo, según los rumores, ha sido descontinuado y no estará disponible en ninguna parte lo suficientemente pronto.

La Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super Founders Edition es un modelo de referencia. Ya no existen versiones más cortas del RTX 2060S con especificaciones más bajas, como en el caso de las GPU que no son Super GPU. Visualmente, no hay cambios importantes. La palabra Super en letras verdes adorna la parte posterior y frontal de la GPU. La placa de circuito impreso y las dimensiones de la RTX 2060S no han cambiado. La tarjeta de vídeo sigue presentando la misma unidad de refrigeración de doble ventilador. En general, la tarjeta gráfica parece muy compacta y de primera calidad. Hay un conector de 8 pines en la parte posterior de la GPU. La GeForce RTX 2060 FE presentaba el mismo conector de alimentación. 

La mayor diferencia, en comparación con el modelo anterior, es la cantidad de VRAM, que ahora asciende a 8 GB. La GPU tiene ahora un búfer de memoria mucho más grande. En total, el PCB alberga ocho chips de memoria. La GPU todavía está construida sobre el dado TU106, pero ahora tiene 2176 núcleos CUDA. Gracias a un mayor número de núcleos RT y Tensor, se ha producido una ligera mejora en el rendimiento del trazado de rayos. Sin embargo, todo esto tuvo un costo. La GeForce RTX 2060S consume 15 vatios más que su predecesora y tiene un TDP de 175 vatios. El banco de pruebas - Basado en el Ryzen 7 2700X

Nuestro banco de pruebas se basa en una plataforma AMD actual. El Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wi-Fi sirve como placa base. La CPU, conocida como AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, ofrece un gran rendimiento. El sistema es enfriado por un enfriador de agua todo en uno de Be Quiet (Silent Loop 280mm). Los 16 GB de 3400 MHz RAM provienen de G-Skill. Descripción general de la Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060S


La NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 para desktops (también conocida como RTX 2060S) es una tarjeta gráfica rápida de gama media de la línea GeForce Turing. En comparación con la GeForce RTX 2060 más antigua (que aún permanece en la línea), la versión Super agrega 256 sombreadores y un bus de memoria más amplio con más memoria (ahora 8 GB GDDR6). Todavía se basa en el mismo chip TU106 (ahora totalmente utilizado) y actualmente no tiene una contraparte móvil (a diferencia de la RTX 2060 móvil).

Características

NVIDIA fabrica el chip TU106 en un proceso FinFET de 12 nm e incluye características como Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) y Real-Time Ray Tracing (RTRT), que deben combinarse para crear efectos de iluminación más realistas que las GPU antiguas basadas en Pascal, de la arquitectura Pascal de la compañía (si los juegos lo soportan). La RTX 2060 también está preparada para DisplayPort 1.4, mientras que también es compatible con HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Proyección múltiple simultánea (SMP) y decodificación/decodificación de vídeo H.265 (PlayReady 3.0).

Rendimiento

La RTX 2060S promedio funciona ligeramente mejor que la antigua GeForce GTX 1080 y muestra una clara mejora con respecto a la RTX 2060 anterior. Por lo tanto, el 2060 Super está posicionado en la gama media y es muy adecuada para la mayoría de los juegos de 2018 en 1080p y 1440p. En comparación con AMD, la RTX 2060 Super se posiciona para competir contra la AMD RX 5700.

Requerimiento de energía

NVIDIA especifica que la RTX 2060 Super debería consumir un máximo de 175 W y, por lo tanto, 15 Watts más que la RTX 2060. En nuestras pruebas, el consumo de energía de la RTX 2060S fue ligeramente más bajo que en la antigua GTX 1080.

Los relojes con núcleo de la Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060S

Como puede verse en la tabla anterior, Nvidia ha aumentado ligeramente el reloj base de la GeForce RTX 2060S (1470 MHz). Sin embargo, el reloj de aumento es un poco más bajo (1650 MHz) en comparación con el RTX 2060. El límite de potencia de la GPU es de 175 vatios. Se puede reducir en un 29% o aumentar en un 22%. El reloj de empuje de la GeForce RTX 2060S es mucho más alto de lo que dice la hoja de especificaciones. La GPU funciona la mayor parte del tiempo a 1.800 MHz, momento en el que alcanza el límite de potencia, lo que significa que los relojes de núcleo no pueden ir más alto. La tarjeta gráfica tiene 8 GB de VRAM, que funciona a una frecuencia efectiva de 14 GHz.

Benchmarks sintéticos

Los puntos de referencia sintéticos sirven como prueba positiva de que el plan de Nvidia está funcionando bien. Las RTX Super GPUs están exactamente donde se supone que deben estar. Lo que queremos decir es que todas las GPUs de nuestro cuadro comparativo se evalúan en el mismo banco de pruebas. Las tarjetas gráficas MSI son versiones con overclocking de fábrica de las antiguas GPUs basadas en Turing. En este caso, las diferencias de rendimiento son algo menores.

Con la Radeon VII, AMD puede hacer que la RTX 2080 funcione por su dinero. Sin embargo, es probable que esto cambie tan pronto como se publique la GeForce RTX 2080S.

El rendimiento en los puntos de referencia de los juegos es similar al que vimos en los puntos de referencia sintéticos. Debido a que la GeForce RTX 2060S dispone de más VRAM, es capaz de conseguir velocidades de fotogramas más altas con la configuración máxima. El MSI RTX 2070 supera al RTX 2060S sólo en unos pocos puntos porcentuales. El rendimiento de las GPUs de AMD depende en gran medida del título. En general, hemos determinado que la GeForce RTX 2060S es entre un 10 y un 20% más rápida que la RTX 2060 FE. Dado que sólo disponemos de GPUs de MSI con overclocking de fábrica, la diferencia de rendimiento no parece tan grande. El RTX 2060S logra vencer al AMD Radeon RX 5700 la mayor parte del tiempo. 

Utilizamos el videojuego Witcher 3 para examinar el rendimiento de la tarjeta gráfica bajo carga. Hacemos el juego en ultra ajustes y registramos tanto la frecuencia de fotogramas como el tiempo de fotogramas. Hay picos ocasionales en el gráfico de tiempo de fotograma. Sin embargo, estos picos no deberían ser perceptibles durante el juego real. Las frecuencias de cuadro también se mantuvieron muy estables durante un largo período de tiempo. Gracias a una frecuencia de imagen media de 83 FPS, el juego debería funcionar sin problemas.
