Intel i9-11900K

El Intel Core i9-11900K es una CPU de sobremesa de gama alta basada en la arquitectura Rocket Lake. La CPU ofrece 8 núcleos y 16 hilos a 3.5 - 5.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.0 / TVB). Con Turbo Boost 2.0, se pueden alcanzar los 5,1 GHz con un solo hilo. Utilizando todos los núcleos, la CPU puede alcanzar los 4,8 GHz. Adaptive Boost permite frecuencias multinúcleo aún más altas (5,1 GHz con todos los núcleos Turbo), pero consume mucha más energía.

El TDP es de 125 vatios (PL1, límite de potencia en carga sostenida), pero el PL2 se ajusta a unos 250 vatios para los boosts de corta duración (hasta 56 segundos).

Gracias a la arquitectura de núcleos más rápida, el 11900K puede compensar los dos núcleos que faltan en comparación con el Core i9-10900K. Por tanto, las aplicaciones centradas en un solo hilo se benefician mucho de la mejora del IPC. El rendimiento en juegos sólo mejora ligeramente (dependiendo del juego). En general, los modelos AMD Ryzen de alto núcleo como el Ryzen 9 5900X siguen estando por delante en juegos y aplicaciones.

Los núcleos del procesador Sunny Cove (conocidos por las CPUs móviles Ice Lake) ofrecen cachés más grandes y un IPC mejorado (hasta un 19%). Además, el chip también incluye (parcialmente) WiFi 6E integrado y Thunderbolt 4. La plataforma admite PCIe 4.0 e Intel DL Boost para la aceleración de la IA.

Las CPUs Rocket Lake-S más rápidas también integran una nueva Intel UHD Graphics 750 que se basa en la actual arquitectura Intel Xe (por ejemplo, Tiger Lake móvil) y ofrece 32 UE. En el 11900K, la GPU tiene una frecuencia de 350 a 1300 MHz.

La CPU está fabricada en el antiguo proceso de 14nm como los predecesores Comet Lake. El consumo de energía es, por tanto, bastante alto, especialmente cuando se activa Adaptive Boost.
