Intel 6820HQ

El Intel Core i7-6820HQ es un procesador quad-core basado en la arquitectura Broadwell, que fue lanzado en septiembre del 2015. Además de los cuatro núcleos de CPU con Hyper-Threading con velocidad de 2,7 - 3,6 GHz (4 núcleos: máx. 3,2 GHz, 2 núcleos: máx. 3,4 GHz), el chip también integra una GPU Graphics 530 y un controlador de memoria dual-channel DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600. La CPU es producida utilizando un proceso de 14 nm con transistores FinFET.

Comparado con el muy similar Core i7-6820HK, el Core i7-6820HQ soporta administración adicional y recursos de seguridad como Intel vPro y TXT, pero le falta el multiplicador desbloqueado para OC.

Arquitectura

Skylake remplaza tanto a Haswell como a Broadwell y trae la misma micro arquitectura en todas las clases de TDP desde 4,5 a 45 W. Las amplias mejorías del diseño Skylake incluye más buffers "out-of-order", prefetching y predicción de árbol optimizados, así como más rendimiento adicional mediante Hyper-Threading. En general, no obstante, el rendimiento fue incrementado en solo 5 a 10 por ciento (en comparación con Haswell) respectivamente bajo 5 por ciento (en comparación con Broadwell), lo cual es bastante modesto para una arquitectura nueva ("Tock").

Rendimiento

Gracias a la arquitectura mejorada, el Core i7-6820HQ se desempeña casi al mismo nivel del antiguo Core i7-4900MQ (Haswell) o el Core i7-5700HQ (Broadwell). Bajo carga de trabajo durante largos periodos, el chip Skylake tomará la delantera ante la mayoría de sus predecesores basados en Haswell, ya que el avanzado proceso de 14 nm  resulta en una eficiencia energética superior y reduce los ahogamientos.

Incluso las aplicaciones más exigentes y multi-tareas excesivas, son manejadas con facilidad.

Gráficos

La unidad gráfica integrada, llamada HD Graphics 530 representa la versión "GT2" de la GPU Skylake (Intel Gen. 9). Las 24 Unidades de Ejecución, también llamadas EUs, tienen una velocidad de 350 - 1050 MHz y ofrecen un rendimiento de alrededor de 20 por ciento por encima de la antigua HD Graphics 4600. Consumo de Energía

Especificada con un TDP de 45 W (incluyendo CPU, GPU y controlador de memoria), la CPU es más adecuada para portátiles de 15-pulgadas y superiores. De forma opcional, el TDP puede ser reducido a 35 watts (cTDP down), reduciendo la disipación de calor y el rendimiento.
